Shellac on the Peel Show last night
was one of the those shivers-down-the-spine moments that so rarely happens in music radio nowadays. I wonder how much of it was improvised? I thought that the second piece they played ('This is the end of radio' was the refrain) was incredibly moving. It was a fitting tribute to the great man to create such a memorable piece of broadcasting. "Is it really broadcasting if there's no-one to receive?" said Albini. Well I listened live last night and I've 'listened again' on the BBC website three times today. Awesome.
Hey, I just checked out the photo gallery and Albini had a Snub-TV T-shirt on!
